Sarah Maxim-Gerard

Administrator

Sarah Maxim-Gerard has been with Fountain View of Grant as the Administrator since 2019. She has 29 years of experience in the healthcare and long term care industry. Sarah has primarily worked with older adults with dementia and other neurological conditions as a recreational therapist, dementia coach, and a manager of long term care staff in various settings. Sarah holds her BS degree in Therapeutic Recreation specializing in Aging and Adult Life from GVSU and is current with CTRS certification as a Recreational Therapist. She is a nationally certified dementia coach through the Positive Approach by Teepa Snow. Sarah focuses on person-centered care, meeting the person where they are in their dementia journey with a goal to provide quality of life experiences, life engagement, and bringing purpose and meaning to one's life in her role as Administrator. She strives to "raise the bar" and be proactive with high quality care and staffing in Grant. On a personal note, Sarah grew up in Grand Rapids and resides in the Sparta area. Sarah is also trained in dance and musical theatre. She continues to teach and choreograph dance in the Belmont and Grand Rapids area as well as reaching out to older adults using music and dance therapeutically.
